About

Hello! I am Emelia Jane, the designer and creator behind Butternut Grove Studio! My little studio is hidden away in the White Mountains of New Hampshire surrounded by forests, lakes, meadows, and never-ending natural inspiration!

I have been working with various mediums since childhood and have always had a fascination and deep love of the natural world, folklore, and slow, traditional craft. My work embodies a harmonious blend of thread-painted micro embroidery and carefully selected raw, natural materials. Inspired by the small wonders found in nature, I especially love bringing tiny creatures and botanical elements to life through intricate, tactile details. The majority of my work is created in small-batch, limited, curated collections, with each piece thoughtfully made by hand.

When I am not immersed in my studio designing and creating one of a kind handmade heirlooms or capturing the world around me with my camera, I am indulging my curiosity and creativity by hiking, traveling, exploring, enjoying my growing Apiary (you can learn so much from honeybees!), and working as a librarian.
